Windies coach Stuart Law will miss the first two ODIs of Windies as he has been handed a two-match suspension following a breach of ICC code of conduct rules. The said incident, which led to his suspension, had occured during the second India-Windies Test which was held at Hyderabad.

The second Test match between India and Windies at Hyderabad concluded without any on-field controversies as the hosts won it comfortably by a margin of 10 wickets. But, off the field, the story was a little different as Windies coach Law could not keep calm after a close decision by the TV umpire did not go well with the Australian.

The incident took place when Ajinkya Rahane took the catch of Kieron Powell in the fourth over of Windies' second innings off Ravichandran Ashwin’s ball that the Windies coach believed did not carry to the fielder. However, the third Umpire thought otherwise and went with the on-field decision declaring the batsman out.

It was then that the incident took place as ICC's statement explains - "The incident on Sunday afternoon happened when Stuart Law, following the dismissal of Kieran Powell, went to the TV umpire's room and made inappropriate comments. He then walked to the fourth umpire's area and, in the presence of the players, again directed inappropriate comments at the fourth official."

Law was thus found guilty of breaching Level 2 Article 2.7 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “Public criticism of, or inappropriate comment in relation to an incident occurring in an International Match or any Player, Player Support Personnel, Match Official or team participating in any International Match, irrespective of when such criticism or inappropriate comment is made”.

Hence, Stuart Law would not be the part of the West Indies team management for the first two ODIs against India which will be held at Guwahati and Visakhapatnam on 21st and 24th October respectively.
