Changes in cricket rules were necessary, says Sourav Ganguly
Sourav Ganguly has welcomed the new set of cricket rules and has claimed that the changes in the game’s guidelines were necessary. The new rules will be implemented in international cricket from September 28, while the ongoing India-Australia limited-overs series will continue with the old rules.
The ICC cricket committee decided to bring in the new set of rules to maintain the balance and excitement in the game. The new rules, apart from other changes, will also give the authority to the umpires to send players back to the dressing room for bad behavior. Ganguly is a part of the 11 members of the world cricket committee which announced the new set of rules. He welcomed the move and called it necessary for the game.
“The changes in the law was necessary. It’s a good thing. It may not be prevalent in India but there have been many incidents at lower level cricket in countries like South Africa and England. You won’t know the importance unless you see the video footage,” Ganguly said as quoted by PTI.
The Level 4
“It’s passed by our committee at the MCC for such incidents,” Ganguly said.
