Kasprowicz feels the Aussies will Perform Better in T20Is

Former Australia bowler Michael Kasprowicz believes that the Australia's middle-order will have a better series against India in the shorter format, owing to their IPL experience. Praising the high-flying India side, Kasprowicz also stated that india will face a similar challenge on foreign soils.

Former Australia pace bowler Michael Kasprowicz believes that the side will see a much better batting display in the shorter format as the Aussies have the appropriate batting line-up for it. Australia kick-off their 3-game T20I series tomorrow against India and would want to make amends for the 4-1 loss in ODI series.

Speaking at an event organised by FICCI and Queensland government, Kasprowicz said, “There isn't a lot of time for the middle-order in the T20s. You are relying on your key batsmen. And I think that is what Australia have in David Warner, Steven Smith, Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, who all have got plenty of IPL experience."

The 45-year-old stressed that the youngsters adapting to the new conditions could be a tricky task and more so in the longer format. He feels that there is no dearth of talent in the current side and they will just need some time to settle in.

“There is nothing wrong with them. It is just some young players are coming in and they need more time to settle at the international level. Look, 50 over format is all about adjusting your skills as per the conditions and Australia did not do that well enough."

Kasprowicz said that India could face a similar challenge while playing on foreign soil with bouncier tracks. “It is always a challenge when you play away from home. So, it would be a challenge for India to play on bouncier tracks. Having said that, they are a pretty hot team at the moment, aren't they?"

Kasprowicz had played 38 Tests and 43 ODIs for Australia and post-retirement, has surprisingly switched to academics and attained an MBA degree. And he said that stated becoming an MBA graduate is almost as hard as playing cricket.

"Well, let me just say that doing MBA was nearly as tough as bowling 25 overs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium," he said.

In 2004, Kasprowicz was in the Australian Test squad when India lost to the visitors 1-2. Since then, Australia have not won Test series in India. “It is always a challenge playing in India. You got to make the adjustment pretty quickly. There are not a lot of warm-up games these days so you got to make the most of them," the Queenslander said.
