PV Sindhu has bowed out of the ongoing BWF Denmark Open after she was beaten by South Korea’s An Se Young in the second round. Sameer Verma and Sai Praneeth have also been knocked out of the competition after they lost their respective second-round matches against Chen Long and Kento Momota.

Indian shuttlers had a tough time in the second round of the Denmark Open as PV Sindhu, Sameer Verma and Sai Praneeth all bowed out of the tournament. Sindhu was beaten by straight games of 14-21, 17-21 against her Korean opponent An Se Young. This was the biggest win for the 17-year-old Korean as she knocked the Indian out from the pre-quarters of the BWF Super-750 Tournament in Odense.

In the men’s singles round 2, India’s Sameer Verma was beaten by Chen Long of China by straight games 12-21, 10-21. Pretty much like his compatriot, Sai Praneeth also went down in the second round of the competition as Kento Momota of Japan took away the game in straight games 6-21, 14-21.

The Indian challenge also ended in the men’s doubles as the Thailand Open champion pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also lost in straight games. They suffered a 16-21, 15-21 defeat against the sixth-seeded Chinese pair of Han Cheng Kai and Zhou Hao Dong on Thursday.
