Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has come out to seek help from the External Ministry of Affairs after her visa process has gotten delayed and her Denmark Open campaign could be in danger. However, the Denmark embassy has already made it mandatory that the applicants appeared in person for it.

After winning the Indonesia Masters earlier in the year, Saina Nehwal’s season has gone from bad to worse. She lost in the quarterfinals of the All England Open, Singapore Open, and Asia Championships, in the round of 32 of the Malaysia Open, New Zealand Open, China Open, and Korea Open, and in the round of 16 of the Thailand Open and World Championships.

Of course, injuries have not made her life any easier but the only solution would be to keep playing. She has Denmark Open coming up next where she would be facing Sayaka Takhashi. However, she has been going through some troubles in acquiring the visa and fearing that it might get delayed till Denmark Open starts, on October 15, she had tweeted on Tuesday, to the EAM, to quicken the process on Twitter.

“Got the visa application processed today in Hyderabad. Thanks @sanjg2k1 (Home Ministry official) for making the impossible happen & @VFSGlobal for going the extra mile along with @DenmarkinIndia even on a holiday! Hope to get the visa in time for flight on Friday,” her tweet read.

However, a big problem on her way has been the protocol required for acquiring the Denmark visa application, which states it mandatory for applicants to appear in person.

“Today as per instruction of the Embassy, VFS Global opened the Hyderabad visa application centre to ensure that Ms Nehwal is able to visit in person to submit her biometrics ... Danish Embassy decides on the application process and takes the decision, not the VFS Global,” VFS said in their statement.
