After their disappointing outing in 2013, Delhi Acers bounced back in the second edition to win the tournament by defeating Mumbai Rockets in the final on their home ground. The defending champions have once again put together a strong team with World no.2 Jan Jorgensen leading from the front.

Jan Jorgensen finished the year strongly by winning the China Open Super Series after finishing as the runner-up at the Japan Open and the Indonesia Open, and he will be spearheading Delhi’s charge to defend their title. If the World no.2 does not do the trick, they have the World no.4 to fall back on in Son Wan-ho. The South Korean had won bronze medals at the Thomas Cup and the Asia Championships last year, followed by final appearances at the Singapore Open, Korea Open, and the Denmark Open.

In the women’s doubles, Delhi have retained Jwala Gutta, who did not have the best season of her career last time around. She will partner the young Maneesha K, who won the silver medal at the South Asian Games last year. In men’s doubles, Delhi have the Russian pair of Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov who are ranked no.9 in the world. The duo won the All England Super Series Premier last year and became the first Russian players to do. Watch out for their Haka-inspired celebration dance!

Delhi Acers open their camping on January 1 against Bengaluru Blasters in Hyderabad.
