Bengaluru Top Guns, last year's bottom-placers, return to the league this year under a new name - Bengaluru Blasters- and more importantly, have ramped up their outfit to evolve as a strong title contender. The Blasters have also roped in Olympic bronze medalist Viktor Axelsen to their squad.

Denmark star Viktor Axelsen is the star signing for the Bengaluru-based franchise, which has a good blend of youth and experience in the squad. Axelsen had been in wonderful form in 2016 and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The Danish star ended the year on a high by winning the Dubai World Super Series final. So, on all account, his inclusion would bolster the chances of the Bengaluru side.

Youngsters Sourabh Verma and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde have also fared well in the international circuit and they will look to carry that splendid run on the court during PBL. Especially for Verma, it was a wonderful year, as he reached four consecutive finals, and won the Chinese Taipei Masters. Ruthvika, currently the No.3 in India, also won the Russian Open Grand Prix this year. With World No. 12 Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in the team, the Bengaluru side looks settled.

With Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy in their ranks, Bengaluru have a lethal mixed-doubles pair, who have the ability to upset any apple-cart.

Bengaluru also have the services of current No.1 in mixed doubles, Ko Sung Hyun, and Korean star Yoo Yeon Seong.

Bengaluru Blasters will start their campaign on 2nd January against defending champions Delhi Acers in Hyderabad.
