Keen Hoh Moh was the top seed at the Asian 6-Red Snooker held in Abu Dhabi, but Advani was coming on the back of a strong 6-1 win in the semi finals over Aditya Mehta and held his nerve in a tight contest.
Advani started well winning the first frame 39-4 to get an early lead. The second frame, however, went the Malaysian’s way, who scored a break of 51 winning the second frame 51-6.
The see-saw nature of the match continued in the third frame, where the Indian cueist won 40-14. But yet again, he could not hold onto his lead, losing the fourth frame 37-0. But it was here that Advani started to gain more control of the match, winning two frames in a row to go 4-2 up. The Indian ace won the fifth frame 41-7, before wrapping the sixth one 44-8.
The top seed, Hoh Moh, wasn’t to throw in the towel yet and bounced back winning the seventh frame 38-21. Advani secured a 45 break in the next frame and went on to win 45-24 to re-establish his 2-frame lead. Despite the Malaysian winning the eleventh frame, Advani sealed the victory with a win in the 12th to lift the title. Advani will now head the team event with Manan Chandra, Kamal Chawla and Aditya Mehta.
