Lothar Matthäus believes Harry Kane has no reason to leave Bayern Munich as he is winning titles and thriving under Vincent Kompany. He expects Bayern to extend Kane’s contract beyond 2027 despite interest from Saudi clubs and FC Barcelona. Matthäus says Kane is a global star and Bundesliga clubs are happy to have him in Germany right now and flourishing.

For the former German captain Lothar Matthäus, there is no reason for Harry Kane to consider leaving Bayern Munich, as his current situation could not be better. Matthäus believes Kane has finally found the perfect football environment where success and stability go hand in hand. Since arriving in Germany, the England striker has started winning major titles regularly, something that eluded him during his years in England.

Speaking on Sky90, Matthäus said Bayern will do everything possible to extend Kane’s contract beyond 2027. According to reports, initial discussions are expected to begin in the spring. Interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and FC Barcelona has been noted, especially with Robert Lewandowski nearing the end of his career, as he will turn 38 in August. Matthäus also praised Kane’s relationship with coach Vincent Kompany, saying Kane thrives in a well-balanced and confident Bayern side.

He questioned whether Kane would perform at the same level anywhere else. Beyond football, Matthäus described Kane as a global brand whose presence benefits the entire Bundesliga. He even compared Kane’s worldwide recognition to that once enjoyed by David Beckham, underlining how important his role has become for German football.
