With the summer transfer window approaching, Chelsea is preparing for a significant squad overhaul to comply with the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The club plans to offload several players to create space and funds for key signings, particularly targeting a new striker and a left-sided winger. Currently, Chelsea has 16 players out on loan, but only a few are expected to return next season.

In the past week, Chelsea spent nearly £60 million on two promising signings from Sporting CP. Highly-rated 17-year-old Geovany Quenda has signed a seven-year contract, with an option for an extra year, for a fee of around £40 million. Quenda was also a target for Manchester United but chose Chelsea due to the promise of playing as an attacking winger. However, he will remain at Sporting until the summer of 2026.

Additionally, Chelsea secured the signing of Dario Essugo for just under £20 million. Essugo will join the squad this summer and is expected to feature in the FIFA Club World Cup, starting June 16. Chelsea are planning more activity in the transfer market as they look to balance their squad, strengthen key areas, and stay ahead of rivals during a busy summer window.
