After the game, Coventry City manager Frank Lampard expressed his admiration for Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, who played a pivotal role in securing a 1-0 victory over Bristol City in the EFL Championship. The 26-year-old ended a goal drought that had lasted since October 2024 with a powerful strike, assisted by Jack Rudoni. His shot from a tight angle hit the underside of the crossbar before finding the back of the net, marking his second goal of the season.

This goal was Thomas-Asante's first for Coventry in 19 appearances, and Lampard praised his work ethic and improved all-around game. "The finishing touch was what had been missing, but he earned that today," Lampard said. With this victory, Coventry extended their unbeaten home streak to six matches, lifting them to 14th in the league standings and sparking hopes for a higher finish.

Lampard also addressed speculation regarding Thomas-Asante's future, confirming that the striker remains a vital part of the squad. Moving forward, Thomas-Asante will focus on Coventry’s next match against Blackburn, a team he has had success against in the past. The forward has scored three goals in four matches against Blackburn, contributing to two wins and a draw.
