Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at a possible return to Real Madrid, stating he is open to receiving a tribute at the Bernabeu. The 40-year-old, who left Madrid in 2018 after winning four Champions League titles and scoring 450 goals, revealed that his departure was influenced by strained contract talks with club president Florentino Perez. Currently playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo remains one of football's biggest icons. His next match is against Al Feiha on February 7.

One of the greatest footballers of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo, has hinted at a potential return to Real Madrid. The 40-year-old, currently playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, revealed in an interview with El Chiringuito that he has left the door open for a tribute at the Santiago Bernabeu. He expressed his desire to celebrate his legacy with Real Madrid fans, possibly in a grand event with 80,000 spectators. He said:

One day maybe. I don’t rule it [a return] out. I left a legacy there, a nice mark there. Maybe at the end of my career, we can do something cool, with 80,000 people. I wanted a different stage, my stage was closed. I wanted a different motivation. It didn’t wear me out, it was something I told the president, he agreed that I could leave.”

Ronaldo left Real Madrid in 2018 after a trophy-laden nine-year spell, during which he won four Champions League titles and two La Liga titles. He remains the club’s all-time top scorer with 450 goals. The Portuguese star admitted that his departure was partly due to disagreements with club president Florentino Perez, though he still holds him in high regard.

Currently, Ronaldo continues to shine at Al Nassr, recently scoring a brace in the AFC Champions League against Al Wasl. His next match is on February 7 against Al Feiha. While a playing return to Real Madrid seems unlikely, the possibility of a farewell tribute at the Bernabeu remains open, allowing fans to celebrate his incredible contribution to the club.
