Despite being on the back foot, Real Kashmir managed to pull one back in the 27th minute through a penalty taken by Paulo Cezar, reducing the deficit to 2-1 at halftime. However, Churchill Brothers added a third goal in the 79th minute to secure a dominant 3-1 win, lifting them to the top of the I-League standings with 22 points from 11 games.
Real Kashmir remained in fifth place with 16 points from the same number of matches. The Snow Leopards will now return home to face Shillong Lajong FC on Sunday, February 2.
In a positive turn, Real Kashmir’s U-17 team bounced back from a heavy loss to win 3-0 against MUM – Dsouza Football Academy in the AIFF U-17 Elite Youth League. Zahid Gulzar scored a brace, with Muntazar Shafi also finding the net. The team will next play Corbett FC on February 1.
