I have Daniel Levy's support despite the results, insists Mauricio Pochettino

Last year’s UEFA Champions League finalists Tottenham lost 3-0 to Brighton leaving them 8th in the League table. Manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted he needed clear the air talks with Daniel Levy earlier but now he has Levy’s full backing despite a torrid start to the new campaign despite heavy spending in the summer transfer window. Sky Sports report says the Argentine talked to global football summit in  Qatar and told about the confidence he has received from club hierarchy.

"We maintain a very good relationship and it is extraordinary to have that support. I have always told him that, in addition to my chairman, I consider him a friend. Football is not a drama, it is passion and we cannot separate it from emotions. But neither can we make a sport as fantastic as this one because of the latest result," said the Spurs boss reports Sky Sports.

Tottenham have not only struggled in the league but also suffered humiliation in the UEFA Champions League, as they lost 2-7 at home to Bayern Munich courtesy of 4 brilliant goals from Serge Gnabry. The North Londoners has also suffered on a mental level, as many players in the dressing room remain undecided on their future at the club. Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld could all leave the club after being linked to many clubs across the entire summer transfer window. Eriksen could leave on a free transfer after rejecting new deals and is constantly linked to Juventus and Real Madrid.

"We must learn from defeats to be able to exceed our limits and that begins by accepting that you don't always win and that the opponent also works hard and makes merits. You must always react with dignity to the result, regardless of whether it is good or bad," concluded Pochettino.
