ISL 2019-20 | Delhi Dynamos rope in Argentina midfielder Martin Perez Guedes : Reports

Delhi Dynamos has been strengthening themselves slowly but steadily with their latest recruitment reportedly being Argentina midfielder Martin Perez Guedes. After a below average season last time, the Dynamos have stuck with Josep Gombau who has already brought in Xisco Hernandez from Bengaluru FC.

The 27-year-old Argentine has been primarily an attacking midfielder and would be tasked with the creative responsibilities in the side, something similar to that of Hernandez. And the fact that he could also play on the left makes him a utility player.

Making his professional debut ten years back in 2009-10 with third division Argentine club Club Atletico Huracan, Guedes is just hitting his peak and could be the lynchpin for Delhi. He spent two years with the third division club and managed 12 goals in 83 appearances before moving to club Olimpo for a season. That stint was followed by a big move to Racing Club.

However, he couldn’t make a mark with Racing with very little game time and requested the side to send him back to Olimpo. Guedes has since played for five different clubs and has finally decided to move to ISL for the upcoming season, reported Goal.

Delhi have already brought in former Barcelona ‘B’ defensive midfielder Diawandou Diagne and Hernandez. And with the retention of Spanish midfielder Marcos Tebar, Guedes would be the side’s fourth foreign player.

Apart from the overseas signing, Delhi have also got their hands on I-League winning young Chennai City FC defender Gaurav Bora and although the likes of Kerala Blasters and ATK are dominating the transfer window, Delhi aren’t far behind.
