Reports | Chelsea target lifting their ban and signing Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha has reportedly agreed to a truce with Crystal Palace supremo Steve Parish after the club denied him a move to Everton. The Selhurst Park side believe that the Scousers ‘got to him’ and tried to pile on the pressure, right on deadline day, so that the player forces through a move to Goodison Park.

The 26-year-old handed in a transfer request on Wednesday and did not train with the Eagles yesterday. Manager Roy Hodgson even admitted that the forward’s head was not clear. In the end, however, despite a deal worth around a deal £70 million, the move failed, with Palace reporting that Zaha wouldn’t be allowed to leave.

This has seen the Sun report that Chelsea, are convinced that they can escape a transfer ban and are shortlisting players that will help them re-build. The report further adds that the Blues are well aware of Zaha’s situation and are willing to bring him during the January transfer window. But that’s only if their transfer ban gets reduced to a six-month ban, which does allow them to spend in the winter-window.
