Mohun Bagan striker Sony Norde will miss the team's AFC campaign after being picked into the Haitian national squad for the centenary Copa America cup. The forward, who was instrumental in Bagan's Fed cup and AFC campaign, will leave India today to take part in the preparatory camp for the Cup.

Norde had opened the floodgates in Bagan's clash with Aizawl FC in the Fed Cup final yesterday. After a goal-less first half, Norde scored the first goal within 3 minutes of the second half leading to Bagan's 5-0 thumping of Aizawl.

However, the star will leave for the Haiti national camp after being named among the 23-member squad for the centenary edition of the Copa America Cup, reported Goal.com. Haiti will play heavyweights like Brazil and Ecuador in the group stages, with their first clash scheduled to take placec on 4th June against Peru.

Bagan, who have topped their group in the AFC Cup, have been pitted against Tampines Rovers in the Round of 16 play-off, and the club would sorely miss the services of Norde with the match scheduled to take place on 24th May at Guwahati.
