Chennai Super Kings had their campaign affected by injuries in this season. Now the team is eyeing for replacements for their injured players, as another name has joined the trials. And this is none other than the Mumbai all-rounder, Ayush Vartak.
Chennai Super Kings are once again facing injury issues in the Indian Premier League. This has been quite common for the fans to watch, as it also happened with the team in the last season. Now, CSK has two of its players ruled out of the tournament, which includes Ayush Mhatre and Khaleel Ahmed.
The team has now signed a replacement for Ayush Mhatre, as Akash Madhwal has joined the team. But they are still looking for a replacement for Khaleel Ahmed, as the midseason trials go on. According to reports, they have targeted another Mumbai player for the same. The reports have claimed that Chennai Super Kings have targeted Ayush Vartak as a replacement.
He was spotted joining the team for the midseason trials, and could possibly be a replacement for Khaleel Ahmed. The team will be looking forward to his performances and if things go well, the Under 23 player would be able to find himself in the Yellow jersey before the team's upcoming match.
The move by Chennai Super Kings to go with young talents such as Ayush Vartak in the trials shows their reliability towards the youngsters. They could have easily gotten an experienced player who is not a part of the IPL right now. But, they decided to go with the youngsters and build a team for the future.
