Blessing Muzarabani was one of the few players who decided to choose IPL over the PSL. Since both leagues were clashing, Muzarabani decided to play in the IPL, which is a bigger T20 league. However, this has also cost him a two year ban from the Pakistan Super League.

Blessing Muzarabani was one of the few players who decided to choose IPL over the PSL. Since both leagues were clashing, Muzarabani decided to play in the IPL, which is a bigger T20 league. However, this has also cost him a two year ban from the Pakistan Super League.

For the first time in a long time, both Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League have clashed. Noting this, several players decided to choose the IPL over PSL, noting that the league is the most popular among all franchise cricket leagues around the world. One such player to make this bold decision was Blessing Muzarabani.

And this decision by Blessing Muzarabani has given him some positives. He was able to do well for Kolkata Knight Riders in the few games he played, creating a name for himself. Along with that, he also registered 4 wickets for the team in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Amidst all this, the Pakistan Super League decided to take action over Muzarabani’s choice. He has now been banned from the league for two years, for choosing IPL over PSL. This has sparked a debate online, as fans argue the dominance of the IPL and the reasons why players have decided to choose it over PSL.

Our Take

Blessing Muzarabani's IPL choice over PSL is clearly justified because of the price tag. He was brought as a replacement by Kolkata Knight Riders for 75 lakh rupees right before the tournament. But in the Pakistan Super League, he was bought by Islamabad United for 11 million PKR, which is approximately 36.44 lakh Indian rupees. Noting the better price tag and opportunities in the Indian Premier League, he made a choice to skip PSL and participate in the Indian Premier League. Moreover, he was one of the key bowlers for Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup, which took place in India and Sri Lanka.
