Leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha has been included in the Australian squad for the five-match T20I series against India starting in Canberra on Wednesday. Sangha replaces Adam Zampa, who has made himself unavailable for the start of the series due to personal reasons, in a like-for-like change.

‌Australia have included Tanveer Sangha in their T20I squad ahead of the five-match series against India starting in Canberra on Wednesday. The leg-spinner replaces Adam Zampa, who will not be available for the start of the series due to personal reasons.

Zampa, who is Australia’s highest wicket taker in T20Is, missed the first ODI of the recently concluded three-match duel against India in Perth. He returned in Adelaide to pick a four-wicket haul en route to winning the Player of the Match award in the second game before going wicketless in the final game in Sydney.

Meanwhile, Sangha has picked up 10 wickets in seven T20Is for the Aussies at an average of 24.90 and a strike rate of 16.8. He last featured in the shortest format against the same opponent in Bengaluru in December 2023.

Incidentally, his last international outing was also against India, when he went wicketless during the semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai earlier this year. Sangha will now join left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann and the off-spin duo of Matthew Short and Glenn Maxwell in the squad.

The action will shift from Canberra to Melbourne for the second game on Friday, with the next three games to be played in Hobart, Gold Coast, and Brisbane on November 2nd, 6th and 8th, respectively.
