‌India Champions progressed to the semifinals of the World Championship of Legends 2025 season with a thrilling five-wicket win over West Indies at Grace Road in Leicester on Tuesday. With the side required to get the winning runs within 14.1 overs to finish ahead of England Champions, Stuart Binny and Yusuf Pathan came up with stunning knocks to power the side to 148/5 in just 13.2 overs.

Binny smashed three fours and two sixes to remain unbeaten on 50 off 21 balls, while Pathan’s belligerent seven-ball 21 had two sixes and a four. For the West Indies, Dwayne Smith and Dwayne Bravo picked up two wickets each. Earlier, the Windies could manage only 144/9 after being put into bat, with Pollard top-scoring for them with an unbeaten 43-ball 74. Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla had figures of 3/18 while Varun Aaron and Binny had two wickets each.

With three runs needed from one over, Yusuf launched Bravo’s slower delivery over the mid-wicket fence to seal India’s qualification. The all-rounder, after the big six, sprinted towards the pavilion before hugging his children in joy.

It was happiness all around as they witnessed their father finish the game in style before being invited onto the field. They congratulated Yusuf for his excellent innings just as he lifted them from across the boundary hoarding straight into the ground.

The younger son was lucky enough to get Yusuf’s bat as the all-rounder urged him to join in for the victory lap. It was an excellent gesture from Yusuf to celebrate a special win with his children.

From Dad, with love!
