‌Ranji Trophy | Twitter reacts to Rohit Sharma’s extended lean patch after replicating Boxing Day dismissal for Mumbai

Mistakes are okay but repetition of errors can be irritating. Rohit Sharma and the Indian fans felt the same on Thursday morning after the Indian skipper got out in his trademark fashion as Mumbai squared off against Jammu and Kashmir side in the Elite Group encounter of the ensuing Ranji Trophy.

Abiding by the BCCI’s decision, plenty of nationally contracted Indian cricketers donned the field as the Ranji Trophy season resumed on Thursday morning. However, plenty of them failed to click with the bat with the Indian Test captain, Rohit Sharma falling for three runs, replicating his dismissal in the MCG Test against Australia.

After a watchful start with Yashasvi Jaiswal on the other side of the 22 yards, Rohit Sharma tried to chip a back of a length delivery from  Umar Nazir Mir, who came over the wicket. In the process, the ball caught up with the outside edge of Rohit’s willow and skewed over towards the cover fielder for a simple grab. Seeing the Indian skipper’s extended batting drought to kick off his Ranji Trophy season, the Twitterverse exploded with criticism.

Deja Vu!
