Winning the toss and choosing to field first, the Thunder bowlers failed to pick wickets inside the 35-run mandatory powerplay. Finn Allen went berserk with the bat and later on Cooper Connolly’s blitz propelled them to 177/4 in 20 overs. Unlike the opposition, the Thunder got off to a shaky start before David Warner and Matthew Gilkes stabilsed the stage. However, the partnership almost concluded in the tenth over until umpire’s call saved the day for Warner.
On the third ball of the tenth over, Matthew Spoors came over the wicket and sprayed a back of a length leg break that didn’t turn much. Warner tried to whip it but got beaten on the inside edge to incur a thud at the pad. As the ball rolled towards close-up of point, the fielder dived and sent Warner back to the crease, denying chances of leg bye. As the Scorchers opted for a review, Warner seemed convinced after the ball tracker showed that the white cherry pitched in line. He was seen strolling off the field dejected before the big screen portrayed the ball hitting the stumps partially, resulting in umpire’s call to retain the original decision of the onfield umpire. Right after, the crowd erupted and Warner sprinted back to his crease to face the next ball, leaving the Twitterverse in splits.
Miracle
David Warner was walking off the field after this Scorchers review looked good...

But, it wasn't out, so he walked back to the middle!
