‌WATCH, BPL | Mayers produces banana swing to clean up dumbfounded Khawaja

One doesn’t get to master an art without consistent hard dedication and perseverance. The above-mentioned traits were on full display when Kyle Mayers produced an immaculate in-swing in the Qualifier of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League between the Chittagong Kings and Fortune Barishal.

Eyeing to grab the opportunity of a Qualifier 1 and lock a spot in the grand finale of the ensuing tournament, Fortune Barishal won the toss and chose to field first. Seeing early moisture on the track, Mayers was handed the new ball against the Kings’ openers to capitalise on the conditions under floodlights. It took the Caribbean cricketer a couple of deliveries to stun Khawaja Nafay in the middle of the field.

After a four down the third man region on the first ball of the innings, Mayers dragged the length back from over the wicket. He swung the ball into the right-hander like a banana, beating the inside edge of an intended push to knock the timbers apart. The ball was pitched much around the sixth stump line and nipped back in to castle the middle and leg stump. Subsequently, the batter was seen shellshocked as he stood affirm shadowing his bat before taking the dejected walk back to the hut.
