According to a report by The Tribune, the ICC delegation will oversee all the preparations for ensuring the successful organization of the Champions Trophy, set to take place next year. A key focus of the discussions will be the security arrangements in the country, with briefings planned alongside local security officials to guarantee the safety of both players and spectators.
The report further notes that the delegation will travel to Islamabad and Lahore in the second phase of their visit to evaluate the facilities in those cities as well.
In addition, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) dismissed rumours about Pakistan potentially losing its hosting rights for the Champions Trophy. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi refuted the claims, affirming that the tournament will be held in Pakistan. According to the report, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice also confirmed that "there are currently no plans to relocate the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from Pakistan" and emphasized that no team has expressed hesitance to participate in the event.
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
