Duleep Trophy | Twitter reacts to Riyan Parag personify elegance with lofted six into the rooftop

While it's easy to gain popularism by whacking the wooden weapon and score runs, there’s a separate fanbase for the art of sheer timing in batting. Riyan Parag’s lofted six on the first day of the Duleep Trophy clash between India A and India D landed on the stadium’s roof, delighting the fans.

‌Eyeing to bounce back after their loss in the round one clash, India D failed to get a good start as Vidwath Kaverappa shone with the new ball, sending Pratham Singh and Mayank Agarwal packing. Unfettered by a couple of setbacks, Riyan Parag came at No. 4 and opted to follow an aggressive route against the bowlers. In the process, he hit the first six of the game, delighting the fans with sheer timing.

After three dots in his first five balls, Kaverappa came over the wicket and pitched a fuller ball around the off stump line. The batter prodded forward and executed a lofted drive, sending the red cherry over the widish long-off region. The timing of the stroke was so sweet that the ball flew all the way to the rooftop at the venue. Parag didn’t just end there, as he ensured five more fours in his knock of 29-ball 37 before getting outsmarted by Arshdeep Singh. However, his brief knock entertained the mass with the lone six being the prime highlight of them.

What a shot!

Brilliant from the bat!

Savage!

That was some shot!

Big shot!

Clean and clear!

Will be remembered!

Great shot!

Absolutely loved it!
