The 2025 season of the marquee league will kick off on January 9 and continue for a month until the final on February 8. Two-time champions and the defending champions, the Eastern Cape will kick off the season against the Cape Town side that finished at the bottom of the table this year.

The runners-up of the previous two seasons, Pretoria Capitals and Durban Super Giants will lock horns in the next game in Kingsmead on January 10. Subsequently, the first doubleheader will feature on Saturday as Paarl Royals will square off against the Eastern Cape while Joburg Super Kings will be playing their first game of the edition against the Cape Town franchise.

It is also worth noting that the Wanderers, Johannesburg will continue the host the final while the SuperSport Park, Centurion will stage the playoffs for the first time. Following the Qualifier 1 game in Gqeberha, the Eliminator, and the second qualifier will be played in Centurion.

The marquee event has been a huge success in the African nation as it drew a lot of fans when the sport seemed to be dying down in the country. The upcoming season is anticipated to be even better with plenty of high-statured cricketers participating. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has opted for a casual contract with the New Zealand Cricket Board due to an offer from the Durban Super Giants. Additionally, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has also signed up for the Paarl Royals in the forthcoming edition.
