Pakistan faced early setbacks after winning the toss in the high-octane clash against India with the score reflecting 29/2 at the powerplay. The middle order struggled against quality Indian bowling, albeit Nida Dar’s 28 helped them steer to 105 in 20 overs. Meanwhile, the Indian contingent looked scratchy at the start of the second innings with Smriti Mandhana failing prey to dot ball pressure in the 5th over. With spin doing the job, Pakistan’s idea to introduce Omaima Sohail in the attack took a wayward turn at the cusp of powerplay.

In the next delivery the ball slipped off her fingers and landed almost near the adjacent pitch towards the backward square leg region. Shafali and the wicketkeeper Muneeba Ali were baffled at seeing such a wayward beamer from the spinner. In no time, the onfield umpire signaled for a dead ball. Subsequently, the senior Pakistan players surrounded her to console before Omaima delivered a wide outside the off side tramline. Although she found her line and length back in the over, the outrageous delivery due to sweat under scorching Dubai heat became the talk of the town in Twitterverse.
