IPL has made a significant impact, bridging gaps between international cricket and bringing players together. A notable moment of this camaraderie occurred in the last session of the fourth day when Virat Kohli walked over to his IPL teammate Josh Hazlewood after the latter was hit on the head.

‌Australia's overnight pair, Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith faced early setbacks as Mohammed Siraj dismissed Khawaja and later removed Smith, leaving Australia at 78/4. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh steadied the innings, with Head scoring a fluent 80 off 88 balls, but Siraj’s strike to dismiss Head in the 39th overturned the tide in India's favour. After a brief partnership between Carey and Marsh, India tightened the grip with a key breakthrough from Nitish Kumar Reddy, dismissing Marsh and Washington Sundar removing Starc before tea. The Indians continued their dominance post-tea, with Sundar taking another wicket to dismiss Nathan Lyon, leaving Australia on the brink of defeat. However, a moment came in when Josh Hazlewood was hit on the head by Rana’s bouncer and Kohli walked up to him for assistance..

On the last ball of the 57th over, Rana bowled a shorter, fast delivery that angled down the leg side, which Hazlewood attempted to evade. However, he took his eyes off the ball, and it hit the back of his helmet. Showing great empathy, Rana walked up to Hazlewood to check if he was hurt. A humorous moment followed when Virat Kohli, Hazlewood’s IPL teammate with Royal Challengers Bangalore, immediately approached Hazlewood, leading to a flurry of social media reactions as fans discussed their IPL camaraderie and the coincidence of Hazlewood’s recent IPL auction.
