A bowler's primary role is to break partnerships, but in the process, they might also shatter the stumps. Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith did a similar as a stunning yorker outsmarted a well-set Kamran Akmal and broke the stump in the first semi-final of World Championship of Legends.

‌Winning the toss and opting to field first paid rich dividends for the Daren Sammy-led unit as Jerome Taylor and Fidel Edwards drew early breakthroughs by removing Sharjeel Khan, Sohaib Maqsood, and Shoaib Malik. With Pakistan Champions’ score reading 10/3, Kamran Akmal and Younis Khan stabilized the stage with a cautious approach. As the pair solidified their position in the contest, West Indies captain Sammy’s ploy to bring Smith into the attack succeeded as the all-rounder concluded Akmal’s stay by breaking the furniture.

After a single off the first ball in the 12th over, Smith came over the wicket and aimed for a yorker at the leg stump. Akmal intended to shimmy down the pitch to smash it down the ground but ended up getting beaten on the inside edge and watched the stumps get shattered. Although Smith didn’t bowl a rapid-paced delivery, the leg stump was seen bisected in a matter of moments. The on-field umpires had to get the furniture replaced before the contest resumed, prompting the Twitterverse abuzz.
