IPL 2022, LSG vs RR | Twitter reacts to Ravichandran Ashwin and Jimmy Neesham's run out controversy

The Indian Premier League over the years has seen many strange runouts happen which have been game-changing for the side. The game between the Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants witnessed one such moment where Ravichandran Ashwin were involved in a strange run-out controversy.

Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants are up against each other in match number 63 of IPL 2022. Both teams are looking to book a spot for the playoffs and the game will is witnessing moments which will can be match-defining. After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat first against LSG. Jos Buttler, Rajasthan Royals man in form was dismissed for just 10 runs by fast bowler Avesh Khan which rattled the Rajasthan side. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal once again rose up to the occasion and took on the LSG bowlers as he smashed them to all parts of the ground during his knock of 41 from 29 balls.

Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal also played important knocks to make sure the Royals kept the run rate going. But, what caught everyone's eye was the strange runout that happened when Ravichandran Ashwin and Jimmy Neesham were batting together. The incident took place on the fourth ball of the 17th over when Ashwin drove Ravi Bishnoi's ball towards the covers. Jimmy Neesham who was at the non-striker's end started running as Ashwin kept looking at the ball. The throw came at the non striker's end and Ashwin started walking as he thought he was out. 

However, the on-field umpire referred it to the third umpire and replays showed that Neesham had not crossed Ashwin and it was Jimmy Neesham who had to go back to the pavilion.
