Might consider playing county cricket, says Jasprit Bumrah

As a part of BCCI's workload management, the three frontline pacers of the Indian attack- including Jasprit Bumrah- have been rested for the South Africa series. The 25-year-old pacer from Ahmedabad has made it clear that if he gets such an opportunity he would consider playing county cricket.

Every cricketer goes through a phase wherein playing county cricket in England is their major aim or at least one of the bigger goals, and for some, it remains the No.1 goal throughout. And India's ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has taken it into consideration for 'the near future.'

“Maybe in the future (I will think about county), but I don’t know as of now because you are playing throughout the year, so there is little period of time where you get time off,” Bumrah was quoted saying by the Sportstar.

As the BCCI has implemented its workload management policy seriously, Jasprit Bumrah along with Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been rested for the upcoming home series against South Africa, that starts on September 15.

"And when you get time off, that is the time you want to work on your body, so you cant b'e playing 12 months a year (and) you have to take care of your body as well. May be in the future if you get an opportunity (I will think about it). I always wanted to play Test cricket," he added.

"... it has been 12 Test matches (so far). I have played Test matches in South Africa, Australia, England, West Indies and I am learning from this experience that I have got. Now, playing in India will pose its own challenges and I am looking forward to it," he said.
