Nick Webb, who is currently the strength and conditioning coach of the New Zealand women's cricket team, is a favorite to take up the same role in the Indian men's team. Should he be appointed the strength and conditioning coach, Webb will be taking up the role previously held by Shankar Basu.

The revamp in the Indian coaching camp is all set to continue with Nick Webb now emerging as the favourite to become the new strength and conditioning coach of the Men's cricket team. In case he's appointed, Webb will be replacing Shankar Basu, who has been an integral part of the fitness of the Indian cricketers -notably Mohammad Shami- over the past few years.

"The All India Senior Selection Committee along with fitness expert Mr Ranadeep Moitra met at BCCI NCA in Bengaluru to conduct a practical assessment of the five shortlisted candidates for the post of Strength and Conditioning Coach of Team India (Senior) Men," said an official press release by the BCCI.

"The selection committee has shortlisted three candidates in the order of priority, which is as below. 1) Mr Nick Webb 2) Mr Luke Woodhouse 3) Mr Rajnikanth Sivagnanam," the release further read.

While Webb is currently the strength and conditioning coach of the New Zealand women's cricket team, he also enjoyed a good stint with Central Districts, while also holding similar positions with Rugby teams Vodafone Warriors, North Harbour Rugby and East Coast Bays Rugby Club.
