Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal, who is now a seasoned campaigner for Bangladesh across formats, might miss a part of the upcoming tour of India owing to personal reasons. Tamim earlier missed the second round of NCL matches due to injury but was expected to recover in time for the India tour.

In what could come as a major blow for the visitors, opener Tamim Iqbal might miss a part of Bangladesh's upcoming tour of India owing to personal reasons. According to a report by Cricbuzz, Tamim wishes to spend time with his wife who is expecting a second child and has intimated the Bangladesh Cricket Board about his partial unavailability.

It is being reported that Tamim will take a call on what he will do after going through test results of his wife's health. Should the result be a positive one, Tamim is expected to be fully available for the India tour but on the flip side, he will miss the first week of the tour in case he decides to spend time with his wife who currently is in Bangkok.

"We haven't decided anything as yet in this regard [about giving permission to Tamim]. Give us some time we still have few more days to think," BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan told Cricbuzz on Thursday (October 24).

It is also being reported that the BCB have lined up Imrul Kayes as Tamim's back-up and have asked the latter not to participate in the next round of National Cricket League (NCL) matches that will kick off from Saturday.

Bangladesh will play three T20Is and two Tests against the formidable Indian team, with the tour set to kick off on November 3, starting with the T20Is.
