After years of toil in domestic cricket, Mayank Agarwal got a sudden burst when he replaced Prithvi Shaw in the Indian Test team for the Australia tour. He hasn't looked back since then, solidifying his position in the Indian cricket ecosystem. While an elusive century evaded him, he did that at home against South Africa, with a double century in Vizag and another century in Pune.

While the series, itself, a productive one for him, he is lucky to witness the dominance of the Indian pace-bowling unit that touched the threshold of performance when they sized South Africa to the limit.

"Kudos to our bowlers for taking 20 wickets and putting us in winning situations. Standing at short leg and seeing their batsmen hop and struggle against the short balls is pleasing, we also face a lot of heat while facing them. Our fast bowlers are giving back what they get, not only the bouncers but the areas that they bowl in as well," Agarwal told Host broadcasters after the 3-0 whitewash.

Speaking about the achievement on his personal front, the Bangalore boy said, "I was very happy that I could make my debut in Australia. Also happy to whatever little contribution we can make to the team. It is hard work over a period of many years to produce results like this."
