Twitter reacts to Virat Kohli’s smiling appreciation as Taijul Islam pulls off unbelievable catch

How often do we see the Indian skipper awestruck by the opposition’s brilliance on the field? The frequency of that is presumed to be low when playing Bangladesh, who don’t sport too many good fielders, are your opponents. But all rare occurrences took place at once and it’s worth a watch.

Getting Virat Kohli out, especially after the glorious batsman went on to score another hundred, was always going to be a huge moment for Bangladesh. But the way it materialised was all the more special.

Batting on 136, Kohli faced an ordinary delivery going down the leg from Ebadot Hossain and he flicked it with his usual grace. While the shot matched up to the skipper’s regular brilliance, Tailjul Islam at fine leg had other plans. The fielder first had almost misjudged it and ran in but then he lept upwards two-handed and grabbed the ball and did not let go of it during his significant flight. Jumping and plucking catches like a kid with superman powers.

While the fans in the crowd cheered in joy and the ecstatic fielding team celebrated, Kohli made his walk with a smile on his face showing evidence of how he was in full appreciation of the catch. At that moment, the bowler pointed at Kohli as the batsman looked back and Ebadot produced his signature salute once again. Kohli, who was acknowledged by the same bowler with applause on Day 1, must have have been in some real good mood to have been smiling all through his way back to the pavilion.

What a catch by Taijul Islam and Ebadot even gave a salute send off to Virat Kohli! :O

This match has had so many world-class catches!

What else can Kohli do after such a brilliant catch!

That match it was Sachin, and today it was Kohli!

At least they have something to smile at!

Now that is a weird stat!

Ebadot waited till Kohli saw him and then did the salute!

That was illegal! How can you fly and take a catch Taijul!?

In slow-mo, that catch looks even more beautiful!

You have to pull off something out of thin air in order to dismiss a special batsman like Kohli!
