MS Dhoni is one of the biggest hitters of the cricket ball and his prowess with the bat is well-known all over the world. In the warm-up game against Bangladesh, Dhoni smashed a monstrous six off Mosaddek Hossain’s bowling and eventually lost the ball which rekindled memories of his prime.

After an early collapse, KL Rahul and MS Dhoni weathered the storm and steadied the ship with a crucial partnership. MS Dhoni looked in a good zone right from the outset and played a crucial innings to gain immense confidence going into the World Cup.

Dhoni batted in his vintage style and shifted gears as per the situation. After smashing a six on the first ball of the 32nd over, Dhoni gave a testament of his brute force by smashing the second delivery of the Mosaddek Hossain out of the park over cow corner. The ball was lost and a new ball had to be taken, which was reminiscent of Dhoni’s heyday, where he did this more often. When Dhoni hits the ball, it stays a hit and throughout his innings, he hardly mistimed a ball.

The partnership between Dhoni and Rahul ensured India had the platform set for a massive total. With Dhoni back in his zone and zen, Indian middle-order will breathe fire in the tournament.
