Hardik Pandya is easily the best all-rounder in contemporary cricket and has done exceptionally well in recent times, especially in the white-ball cricket. His big hitting ability has left many bewildered and has developed a knack of picking crucial wickets with the ball.
Pandya was a key player in Mumbai Indians’ successful run towards their fourth title. He plundered 402 runs at a blistering strike rate of just over 191 and picked 14 wickets with the ball along with being economical. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag feels that Hardik is in red hot form and his talent has no match in contemporary cricket.
Pandya’s cricket career was hanging by a thread after he made a misogynistic comment on the national television and had to serve a suspencion. However, his successful return to the Indian set-up has only bolstered the side.
“There is no one even closer to Hardik Pandya’s talent with both bat and ball. If there was someone even closer to him, the three-dimensional players picked by BCCI, were even closer to him, Pandya would not have made it back into the team,” Sehwag was quoted saying by PTI.
India will play their opening game of the World Cup against South Africa on June 5.
