Harsha Bhogle has a point there!
Amused by the fact that Shahid Afridi has revealed the worst kept secret in international cricket. But I have always believed that unless you are playing an U19 World Cup, your age doesn't matter.
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha)
Shahid Afridi trend setter!
Not sure why fans are finding it amusing that Shahid Afridi was older than what his passport claimed. Many players in the subcontinent have similar discrepancies in age; Hasan Reza of Pakistan was reportedly 14 (FOURTEEN!) when he made his international debut.

Did he change his name to hold that record?
Shahid Afridi reveals his real age in his autobiography and He is five years older than the actual reported age...
— Broken Cricket (@BrokenCricket)
PS: Shahid Afridi currently holds the record for the youngest to score a century in ODI history.
What a legend!
And even in his own book he gives two different ages for his debut...
— Nakul Pande (@NakulMPande)
Shahid Afridi is not a person. He is a timeless, ageless concept.
Hope Afridi sees this and makes changes!
“I was 19 years old and not 16 as they claim when I made my debut. I was born in 1975"- Shahid Afridi
— Sir Jadeja fan (@SirJadeja)
Cheater still holds the record for youngest cricketer to hit ODI century. Also, who's going to tell him that 1996-1975=21 not 19 🤔
The truth!
Good to know that has revealed his real age. He has been 16-year old since the last 40 years.
— Putul Rani Deb (@MChiley)
Damn! Afridi now making people question their life!
Shahid Afridi was 21 not 16 when he scored debut century. This life is a lie.
— Saud Suleman (@SaudSuleman456)
Here is what we learnt from all of this!
so Afridi is actually too old to unretire anymore
— Gaurav Kalra (@gauravkalra75)
This was the funniest part!
what a liar blaming on authorities for his age
