South Africa were tightening the screws around Sri Lanka with timely strikes and were on the brink of wrapping things up with the ball. Dwaine Pretorious and Chris Morris did extremely well to pick wickets at regular intervals and push Sri Lanka on the back foot after a decent start. But just when the Sri Lankan innings was about to come to an end, a swarm of bees decided to invade the ground, halting the play for a while in the process.
After Morris bowled the fifth delivery of the 48th over, bees invaded the ground, which forced the game to be stopped. The players were lying on the ground to avoid being stung by them while the crowd couldn’t stop laughing at the scenario. It definitely made the day for many as moments like these are hard to come by these days.
The invasion may have provided some break but couldn’t stop the South African bowlers from wreaking havoc as they cleaned up Sri Lanka for a modest total of 203.
