Despite it being extremely clichéd, the Men in Blue are really seen “enjoying themselves” on field this World Cup and it has gone their way as well. Four-wicket hero Mohammed Shami was seen having fun as he signaled Billy Bowden’s crooked finger asking umpire Richard Kettleborough to raise finger.

Thursday was the second consecutive time Virat Kohli had to rely overtly on his side’s bowling and fielding prowess after posting a meager target of 269 runs. And quite surprisingly, the playful Indian side registered a resounding 125-run victory as per popular expectations.

The incident happened during the second innings when the West Indies side was batting through their familiar batting collapse. Jasprit Bumrah was bowling the 27th over to Fabian Allen. The strike bowler had just sent Carlos Brathwaite in the previous delivery and his second delivery was fast and straight at the stumps.

Allen, who had just come to the crease, wasn’t ready for such intensity and was beaten by pace unable to prevent the ball from pinging in front of the middle stump. Umpire Kettleborough was quite confident about the dismissal and had his finger up before Allen decided to take a review to save himself from the blushes of a first ball duck.

On the big screen, the ball tracker showed that the ball was clipping the leg stump and the Indian players were relieved. Shami, who was no sure after the big screen confirmation, was in his unusual cheerful self and was seen playfully showing umpire Kettleborough the famous iconic Billy Bowden crooked finger “out” signal even before the umpire received confirmation from upstairs.
