ICC World Cup 2019 | Team India’s practice session at the Oval called off due to excessive rain

Ahead of the mouth-watering encounter against defending champions Australia, the Indian cricket team had to abandon their practice session at the Oval on Friday due to torrential showers. Virat Kohli & Co. will take on Aaron Finch-led Australia at the Kennington Oval in South London.

The Indian cricket team registered a six-wicket win against South Africa in their World Cup opening match and will hope to build on the same momentum as they gear up to face South Africa in their second group-stage encounter on the weekend. However, Virat Kohli & Co. were at the receiving end of some bad news as they had to abandon their practice session due to excessive rain at the Oval on Friday.

England's unpredictable weather hampered cricket on Friday with rain threatening to spoil the Sri Lanka vs Pakistan match in Bristol and forcing India to call off their practice session at the Oval in London.

On the brighter side, the forecast for Sunday, when India are scheduled to take on Australia here, is for cloudy skies with little chances of rain. Conditions aren't expected to improve until Saturday evening, which could hamper India and Australia's only training sessions before the match. In such a scenario, teams could take the next best option of practicing in the indoor nets at the stadium.
