Kerala fast-bowler Sandeep Warrier has been called up to the India 'A' squad for the last two unofficial Test matches against West Indies. The KKR pacer will replace Delhi paceman Navdeep Saini who has been selected for the limited-overs series against the same opponents next month.

28-year old pacer Sandeep Warrier has received a call up to the India ‘A’ team for the remainder of the two unofficial Test matches against the West Indies. The Thrissur-born cricketer will come in place of fellow pacer Navdeep Saini who will return home to take some much-needed rest after helping the Indian batsmen practice in the nets during the recently concluded World Cup in England.

“I got the message that I will be replacing Saini in the West Indies squad on Monday. Though I have played for India ‘A’ before, this will be the first time I will be travelling with ‘A’ team abroad. So I am pretty excited and hope to do well in the opportunities I get to play in Windies,” Sandeep told TOI from Chennai.

Warrier had earlier played for India ‘A’ in both the first-class matches and five one-dayers against Sri Lanka last month. The KKR fast bowler enjoyed his best domestic season last year as he led the Kerala Ranji team as he ended the season with 44 wickets from 10 matches.
