When India were knocked out of the World Cup, speculations were rife that the two-time World Cup winning captain will announce his retirement from international cricket. Players, fans, pundits alike offered their opinions on the matter.
With the tour to West Indies soon coming, everybody was certain that a decision would be imminent, Dhoni made himself unavailable for the tour, and ruled out immediate retirement.
“He has his own planning. He must have told the BCCI but not all things are revealed. Dhoni doesn’t need anybody to tell him what to do,” Munaf told a TV channel, reported Hindustan Times.
Instead of focusing on the road ahead, as the BCCI have done, Munaf instead pointed out to Dhoni’s glorious past as captain of the country.
“He has done so much for the country. What West Indies have achieved since 1975, Dhoni has done it in a few years (2007-15). He has won us all trophies. You can’t ignore him just like that,” Munaf added.
