Afghanistan set to play one-off Test against West Indies in India

Afghanistan will take on West Indies for their fourth-ever Test match on November 27 in their adopted home ground in India. The Test match will be the conclusive affair of a full tour that also includes three T20Is and three ODIs, starting from November 5, in Dehradun, Lucknow, and Noida.
After playing India in their first-ever Test match in June 2018, Afghanistan played another one against Ireland, where they secured a win. Now they will be up against West Indies in a one-off game which is also a part of the tour that also includes three T20Is and three ODIs.
Earlier in the past, both sides have played in 10 internationals against each other, and Windies have an upper hand by winning five of them and while losing four. The biggest solace for the Windies will be the fact that eight of those games were in the Caribbean and now for the first time, the Asian nation will take on the Windies in their adopted home base.
According to the ICC’s Future Tours Programme, West Indies are scheduled to stay in India after their series against Afghanistan so as to play the hosts in a series that includes three T20Is and three ODIs. The Windies tour will act as a practice for them as well to reverse the tale against India.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, would be playing Bangladesh in a one-off Test, which will be their third Test match, and will also play a T20I tri-series that also features Zimbabwe before taking on Bangladesh.
