India vs Australia | Rain could play spoilsport in Sydney; cost India the fourth Test

Rain prediction for Monday – the last day of the ongoing fourth Test match between India and Australia in Sydney - could affect India’s chances of winning SCG Test. On day four, India enforced the follow-on and the Aussies are currently on 6/0 in their second innings and are trailing by 316 runs.

After a rain-affected Day 4, there are chances of precipitation tomorrow as well in Sydney and these are worrying signs for the Indian team and skipper Virat Kohli. With the play starting at 10 am local time, it might remain cloudy from the very beginning of the game at the SCG. There might be precipitation during the day’s play as according to Accuweather.com, there is a shower prediction at around 11 am in the morning tomorrow.

However, the Indians might have some relief after that as the clouds are expected to clear away in the afternoon and there is no prediction of rain coming down till 5 pm when there is thunderstorm prediction for tomorrow. So, the Indian players have to worry about bad light stopping play in the morning and then the shower predictions before noon. While, if the sky remains partially cloudy in the afternoon, the Indian bowlers will be happy to go out there firing in all cylinders.

After bowling the Aussies out for 300 in the first innings, India enforced the follow-on on the penultimate day of the game in which only 25.2 overs were bowled. The Indians will be expecting the clouds to stay away from the SCG as after already taking the unassailable 2-1 lead at the MCG, India would want to win the final Test and end the series on a dominating note tomorrow. The Indian bowlers have to pick up all the 10 second innings wickets tomorrow to get their third win of the series Down Under and any reduction in overs might just go against them on the final day.
