Moin Khan has opinionated that the present Pakistan team has great talent, depth, and variety under captain Sarfraz Ahmed and is capable of achieving their first World Cup win against India in May. He also pointed out that the Pakistan bowlers were better in English conditions than the Indians.

Pakistan and India have faced each other on six occasions in the World Cup matches, with the former unable to win a single match as of yet. However, the former Pakistan player, who was a part of the 1992 and 1999 World Cups, sounded quite confident that the jinx has every chance of breaking in the upcoming World Cup starting on May 13.

"This present team is very capable of recording a first win over India in a World Cup because there is talent, there is depth and variety and Sarfaraz Ahmed has now gelled the squad well," Khan said on GTV News channel, reported TOI.

The wicket-keeper batsman has propounded that the current Pakistan team has the advantage over the conditions in England compared to India and also highlighted their recent bowling performance against England. He also recalled the 2017 Champions Trophy finals in which Pakistan had defeated India in England and was hopeful that Pakistan would record their first win against India in the upcoming World Cup.

"I say this because our boys beat them (India) in the Champions Trophy two years back and I just feel that in English conditions in June we have better bowlers. This should be a very interesting World Cup and I am backing Pakistan to beat India. Our boys are in good spirits and it is good they will go into the competition after having played ODI matches against South Africa, Australia and England," he said.

The former Pakistan manager and chief selector also stated the reason behind Pakistan’s move to have three weeks of training camp in England before the big tournament, citing that the weather would be indeterminable and hence the camp could help the players get accustomed to the ambience.

"Pakistan is one team that has done well in England in the last many years and in May-June, the weather can be unpredictable and there is moisture in the pitches ”, he elucidated.
