Rajasthan Royals will don the pink jersey in the upcoming season of the IPL 2019, the franchise announced on Sunday. The winners of the inaugural edition of the cricketing pageant also announced the return of Australian legend Shane Warne, but this time as the Brand Ambassador of the franchise.

After unveiling the new look of their franchise's jersey, the club said that the new identity has been adopted after receiving a very huge positive response from the fans during the last edition and due to the deeply rooted links between the colour and the state of Rajasthan, with its capital Jaipur being a synonym for Pink City.

“We are extremely happy to announce our official colour as ‘PINK’. This is an exciting change for us and marks a strategic move in the direction of what we are trying to build our brand into – a fan-driven team that finds ways to win from anywhere,” Manoj Badale, lead owner, Rajasthan Royals, was quoted saying by the franchise's official website, as reported by TOI.

Spin legend Shane Warne, who worked with the Rajasthan team as a mentor in the last edition, also expressed immense happiness in joining the team as the ‘Royal Brand Ambassador’.

“I’m very happy to be back with the Royals and I’m grateful to the team and the fans for their constant support. It was important for us to retain our established values but at the same time develop a new and modern identity. I am already in love with the new look of the team and hope the fans will love it too,” said Warne.

The 12th edition of the IPL is expected to start from March 23rd this year.
