VIDEO | Kieron Pollard decides to run straight back to pavilion after running hard for forward defense

Kieron Pollard is very dependent on hitting boundaries and he has made a career in doing just that. However, his running has never been his best asset and yesterday, after defending a ball, he started running for a single and didn't even stop to see his stumps being uprooted in a ridiculous manner.

It seemed like Mohammed Shahzad is on a roll as far as showing his keeping brilliance is concerned. After a brilliant back-flick stumping earlier in the same innings in the match between Chittagong Vikings and Dhaka Dynamites, he assisted in another run-out, but this time it was down to the batsman’s rush of blood rather than the keeper’s brilliance.

On the penultimate ball of the 10th over of Vikings' innings, Cameron Delport bowled a length ball and Pollard just tapped it in the front towards mid-off where Mushfiqur Rahim was stationed. Conventional logic suggested that Pollard should immediately have returned back to the crease and not moved forward.

However, even after his partner Shakib-al-Hasan’s reluctance to go for the single, Pollard ran forward and never stopped. It was then an easy opportunity for Rahim to send the ball back to Shahzad who took the bails off to signal the end of Pollard’s innings. The burly Barbadian didn't even look back at the stumps and directly started walking back to the pavilion while Dhaka started celebrating the wicket.
