Pakistan Cricket Board announces Wasim Khan's resignation from Cricket Committee head

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani confirmed major changes in personnel on Sunday, with one being the stepping down of Cricket Committee head Wasim Khan from his post. It was also confirmed that Academies Director Mudassar Nazar will move on when his contract ends in May next year.
Under the recommendation of the Cricket Committee panel headed by Wasim Khan, the PCB had decided to part ways with foreign head coach Mickey Arthur and the national team's bowling and batting coaches right after the World Cup. Misbah-ul-Haq, the current head coach-cum-chief selector, and the legendary Wasim Akram was part of the panel as well. However, chairman Mani noted that a change was necessary as Wasim Khan could’ve exerted a lot of influence over the panel as a full-time employee of the PCB.
“At that time Wasim Khan took over as head of the committee as Mohsin Khan had resigned as he himself was interested in some positions within the PCB. An independent chairman for the committee will be appointed, Mani told PTI.
Meanwhile, former Test cricketer Nazar, who joined the board in June 2016, will not be seeking an extension of his contract when it expires on May 31 next year.
"It has been an exciting and satisfying time with PCB as Director – Academies. When I had joined from the ICC Academy in Dubai in June 2016, I was clear in my mind that it will be a three-year period, but I extended to another year after being requested and convinced by my colleagues,” Mudassar said.
“However, it is now time for me to return to the United Kingdom, spend time with my family and explore other opportunities," Mudassar added.
